Nobody puts Baby in a corner If you don't know what movie the line, "Nobody puts Baby in a corner" is from then you probably didn't grow up in the 80s. It's from 'Dirty Dancing,' which was released in 1987. This line was stated by Patrick Swayze's character, Johnny Castle, during the movie's climactic ending. He is talking about Baby, played by Jennifer Grey. Just thinking about it makes me want to see this wonderful coming-of-age movie again. Patrick Swayze may have been at his dancing best in 'Dirty Dancing.' As much as I enjoyed seeing him dance with Jennifer Grey, it is the moments he spends with the character of Penny, played by Cynthia Rhodes, that I used to pay closest attention to. For some reason I thought she was Swayze's real-life wife. She isn't, and never was, but these notions have a way of sticking. 'Dirty Dancing' just celebrated its 20th anniversary. How ironic that the production team didn't like it and thought it would be a flop. One of the film's executives, Aaron Russo, was credited with saying, "Burn the negative, and collect the insurance." I wonder what he's saying now.
